FDA Withdraws its Guidance on New Obamacare Menu Labeling Law
Today at Noon the FDA submitted for publication in the Federal Register a Notice announcing the withdrawal of its Draft Guidance on the Menu Labeling requirements of Obamacare.
In the Draft Guidance document, the FDA had indicated that they would refrain from enforcement of the new law through December 2010 when the final version of the Guidance was expected.
Today's Notice indicates that the FDA will continue with the rule making process and will continue to refrain from enforcing the law until the process is complete.
Obamacare requires the FDA to issue a proposed regulation by March 23, 2011.
