McDonald's May Drop Health Plan

McDonalds warns that it may have to drop health care coverage for 29,500 of its hourly employees due to an upcoming health care regulation. The regulation addresses Medical Loss Ratios (MLR) which control the percentage of premiums that must be used for health benefits instead of administrative costs or profit. The MLR regulation may make is difficult or impossible for employers to offer "mini-med" or limited benefit plans.
